Can’t wait for my future house in Ireland with a beautiful view and my collie and my horses and my husband and my kids and the cliffs and hills and beaches and accents and music and mist and grass and even the no sun thing.

I NEED TO GO TO IRELAND STATTTTTT.

Ireland, I am coming home
I can see your rolling fields of green
And fences made of stone.
I am reaching out, won’t you take my hand?
I’m coming home, Ireland.
Yes, I am home, Ireland.

Study Abroad Locations

I might be in that awkward not-in-high-school-but-not-in-college stage right now, but I’ve already made some decisions about my college career. I guess that means making it through freshman year beginning next fall, but hopefully that won’t be a question…

Anyway, junior year of college, I’m going abroad. I’m doing it. I just spent the last hour researching the programs Trinity offered for 2010-2011, and I fell in love with SO many options. I did narrow it down, however, to a preliminary list of eleven countries.

(Note: I’m not really one to plan ahead, but I do dream ahead.)

And, without further ado, I present to you — the study abroad locations of my dreams:

-

IRELAND: Dublin, Galway or Belfast

ENGLAND: London, Surrey or Norwich

SCOTLAND: Edinburgh or Glasgow

EGYPT: Cairo

GHANA

PERU

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

INDIA: Delhi

NEW ZEALAND: Dunedin

GREECE: Athens

ITALY: Florence or Rome

-

Yes, most of them are in Europe. I’ve never been to any of these countries though, and have dreamed about someday traveling to all (some dreams have been much more recent…coughanhouragocough…but dreams, nonetheless).

I’m thinking I’ll be a History or Anthropology major, or something along those lines… anything with History, I’m a sucker. A lot of these programs are English-based (I only sort of speak Japanese. Never a drop of Spanish, only a little French. Possible Italian, Greek or Arabic courses await me in college though.) and all offer humanities courses, since I have ZERO inclination toward mathematics and most sciences (aka I suck at them…).

Big picture story: I can’t WAIT to get out of the US. I’m itching to see the world. “Just head out for the horizon whenever I feel like it.”  Like, this sort of kind of really needs to happen… as soon as possible… but I guess I’ll just have to sit tight until junior year? Ugh.

Dear Irish Boy - Eileen Ivers

Gorgeously sad song, but the sigh at the end is the part that kills me. Perfect ending.
